The mag is absolutely brilliant, but this is on the 1st of May, the week after I found out it's canelled. Why don't we all just organise our own events in beer gardens and back gardens? Perhaps there just aren’t enough servers or maybe their tempers get squeezed as they squirm through impossibly small spaces between tables, but I have not appreciated the change. Unfortunately I am not the only person with a similar perception: I have spoken to several people who have felt the service has gone ‘off the boil’ here. Our first attempt to eat at the Rupee was thwarted as we arrived at 23:15 and the restaurant was closing. The advice therefore is book in advance or arrive before 22:30 as this place can be busy.. I have eaten here quite a few times over the years, but the food is usually very disappointing. The welcome however is always warm and they have a great selection of whiskies and decent ales.
