Running out of time if we want to set a date for the first
SCOTTISH NATIONAL BARD-B-Q.

BBQ's held by communities, groups, clubs and families.
Probably the best time to have them is between 21st & 26th July.

What thinks you?

Cheers, Aulyin

Just saw a pile of "Homecoming Festival" magazines. The mag is absolutely brilliant, but this is on the 1st of May, the week after I found out it's canelled.

Why don't we all just organise our own events in beer gardens and back gardens? Scottish National BARD B-Q week.

On our recent visit to Elliots we enjoyed the Scottish tapas plate followed by the rump of Ayrshire lamb and the seabass, no complaints.

I can’t fault the food at the Rupee Room in Wellington Square but just recently I have found the formerly funny and very friendly service to be rather terse and strained. Perhaps there just aren’t enough servers or maybe their tempers get squeezed as they squirm through impossibly small spaces between tables, but I have not appreciated the change. Unfortunately I am not the only person with a similar perception: I have spoken to several people who have felt the service has gone ‘off the boil’ here.

Our first attempt to eat at the Rupee was thwarted as we arrived at 23:15 and the restaurant was closing. The advice therefore is book in advance or arrive before 22:30 as this place can be busy..

We booked for Saturday night and were not dissapointed. Your comments regarding the food and ambience are all spot on. Highly recommended

I've heard the rooms here are very good. I have eaten here quite a few times over the years, but the food is usually very disappointing. The welcome however is always warm and they have a great selection of whiskies and decent ales. Not quite perfect, but has the potential!
